I’m feeling a bit …

I feel a little lost and out of bounds. Why do you ask? Well, I’ve been gone for so long that I’ve lost my momentum. I don’t regret my decision. I’m happier now than I’ve been for a long time. I just miss writing and communicating with my readers.

Some of them have moved on.

Thank you guys for your support by buying my books without the promotion. Thank you for the messages to check up on me. Thank you for continuing to interact with my page even with my absence.

So I wanted to share a piece I was working on with a group of writers. It was a new experience for me because it was a different genre. It’s only my part and I hope you enjoy it.

Mystery and Mayhem
Corina Legret

Corina woke up in her bed with no recollection of the night before. The last thing she remembers is the beautiful man that she danced with who looked a lot like the man who haunted her dreams almost every night. She rolled over and her body responded in pain. God, what happened last night. She thought to herself.

She opens her eyes and slowly sits up. At a snail’s pace, she  walks over to her bathroom and stands in front of the mirror. What the hell happened to my arms? She says out loud as she touches the light scratch marks on her forearms. With a panic, she quickly rips off her dress to inspect the rest of her body. She breathes a sigh of relief when she doesn’t find any more scratches on her.

As she reaches for a hair tie off of the counter so that she can place her hair in a messy bun, something catches her eye in the palm of her hand. It’s a name and number. Rebel she says out loud to herself.

What kind of a name is Rebel she mutters to herself. Then something clicks in her brain. It’s him. She rushes out of the bathroom to look for something more permanent to save his number on. She reaches into her bedside table and pulls out paper and pen. She stares at the paper and his brown eyes flashes in front of her face.

She puts his number back into the draw and returns to the bathroom. She turns on the water to let it warm up a bit. A few moments later she steps into the shower and she lets her mind wander back to the night before. Her body begins to remember his hands on her and she begins to feel a tingle all over her body. Then out of nowhere a pair of glowing brownish yellow eyes appear in her thoughts.

What the hell was that? She asks herself as she steps out of the shower. The eyes looked so familiar. She thought as she slipped into her usual outfit of slacks and plain white shirt, along with her coat. She also felt like the eyes were watching her. She shivered and she wasn’t sure if it was out of fear or excitement.

She was running late so she decided she would just make herself a cup of instant coffee. Why do I feel like I know who those eyes belong to? She says to herself as she pours her coffee to go. On her way out she pets Oscar as she always does. When she reaches the front door she rushes back into her bedroom and grabs the paper with the number. Just in case. She says to herself as she walks out of her house. Because she was running late she didn’t have time to admire her surroundings.

“Did you enjoy yourself last night?” Janice asks with a knowing smile as she walks into the office. Corina frowns at her and stops in her tracks. “What are you talking about?” She asks. “Well, you left with that hot guy you were dancing with. So I assumed you had a good night.” Corina does her best to try to remember what happened last night and she comes up blank.

“Hey, Janice.” She says as she walks towards Janice’s desk. ” I need you to look up this name and number for me.” She hands Janice the piece of paper and heads towards her office. As she gets to her office door she hears Janice  say,”What kind of name is Rebel?” Corina smiles to herself.

Rebel Black

Corina. He repeats the name over and over in his head. When he feels like he’s about to go mad he lets out a roaring scream.

He had been in the woods for a few hours. He had to wait until it got dark to find a way home. He wasn’t sure exactly where he was and he didn’t want to get caught.

After a few hours. He started to get impatient. I need to get out of here. He says to himself as he looks around. He sits up and closes his eyes and he begins to listen to his surroundings. At a distance, he can hear cars passing. He gets up and heads toward the sound.

After about an hour of walking, he sees the road. It’s quite busy. It’s state road 17. He sighs and sits. This can’t get any worse. He thinks to himself.

His stomach begins to rumble. Great. He murmurs annoyed with himself.

He inhales deeply and he smells food. But, it seems like it’s a good distance off. With resignation, he gets up and begins to follow his nose in the shadows of the trees. How he would get the food was a problem he would worry about when he got to the food.

Blurb:
It’s the anniversary of our first time. I can never forget it because it’s the only time that I’ve ever felt whole. I am nothing with you and I can never forget the day when you gave yourself to me … so I wanted you to remember too.

Excerpt:

I look up to find the most intense dark brown eyes I’ve ever looked into on the most ruggedly handsome guy I’ve ever seen. His dark wavy hair compliments his dark eyes and tan skin. Usually, I like men clean shaved, but the scruff that he’s rocking only adds to his raw and carnal sex appeal. He oozes confidence in a way that doesn’t come across as arrogant. He is perfection on two legs.
